May update from Jenni…


It’s been a busy May for the committee now that we are in full swing! Not only that but it has been a busy month for me personally as I bring my in-house career to an end this week. I launched my new business on Tuesday and I’m excited about what the months ahead will bring. I’m equally excited that this month we kicked off our programme of activity for the year.

We are partnering with Alive with Ideas for another year and their recent Ask the Guru event and Webinar were a huge success – look out for some creativity nuggets and rubber duck photos!

We have finalised our strategy for 2017/18 and we have some big projects now underway:

  • Our research project is in full swing and we have a survey running at the moment to find out more about what you think of internal comms and the impact it can have on an organisation. The survey closes on 2 June and will play an important role in our annual conference – we are keeping the overall research project theme a surprise but we will be able to tell you more in the next few weeks!
  • We are redesigning our website so look out for a refreshed look and updated content by the summer. We want to make sure you can access information easier and find out more about our events as soon as you can and we are keen to ensure we are providing space for our members and non-members as well.
  • Our conference will be back in November and we will be announcing the date, venue and theme very soon so watch this space. Early bird tickets will go on sale in June so be sure to grab yours to make sure you don’t miss out

Next month we will be running another Ask the Guru event and Webinar with our partners Weber Shandwick. The topic is Employer Branding in the age of the naked organisation and you can join the Ask the Guru event at their offices on 7 June and the Webinar will be on 28 June. For me this is a topical subject as organisations struggle to match the external perception and the internal reality – so I can’t wait to hear more.

I’m delighted that we are partnering with theblueballroom and Luminous as well as those mentioned above this year. I hope we can announce more partners in the next few weeks as we finalise our plans for the year ahead.

The Committee are all working really hard on these projects and more, making sure we are updating content, creating new events and giving you the chance to feedback all so we can help you develop further in your profession as internal communicators.
