New CIPR Inside committee voted in

Tuesday 19 March saw the CIPR Inside AGM take place at The Montcalm, London. A 12 strong committee was voted in and James Harkness has taken up the post of Chair to lead the group and committee for the coming year. This year’s committee brings together professionals from various sectors representing the wider membership. They will give their time and commitment to create and deliver a range of events and thought leadership on internal communication to build upon the success of 2012. The annual report was presented by outgoing Chair, Kevin Ruck. 2012 was a great year for the group.

In summary:

  • The conference attendance was up by 49% on the previous year
  • Ask the Guru sessions have been created and delivered in five different topics
  • A Summit was held for the first time, attracting 60 delegates and covered the hot topic of internal communication measurement
  • Measurement Matrix developed
  • This website was launched for the group
  • A mentorship scheme has been developed and welcomed by the members
  • Twitter followers have more than doubled
  • Professional career map started
  • The #insidestory awards were launched – entries exceeded expectations by 10% and attendance to the celebration party was 50% more than expected

Of course there’s always room for improvement, and in response to feedback from these events and wider discussions our events will develop to reflect the needs of our membership. The committee will be meeting soon to decide the focus of activity for the year ahead. We will update you here as soon as plans are made.
