June update from Jenni…

June has been busy for the committee as we’ve been getting everything ready for some major announcements this month.

Today we launched our new website! Thanks to the team at Honey Creative for their partnership this year to help us create the new site and thanks to Dark Horse Design for the work on the new logo. This wouldn’t have happened without the work of one of our key committee members Advita Patel who worked all weekend to move all the content across to the new site – so a huge thank you to her!

Advita leads our social media group in the committee and you may also have noticed some other changes here – with more to come. Advita and the social media group (which includes Paul Summerhill and Jo Twistleton) conducted an audit of all our channels and as a result we will be making the following changes:

  • Our pinterest account has now been closed – we felt that this platform wasn’t adding any value to our members and it wasn’t the right channel for the information we share
  • We will also be closing our Yammer group at the end of July. We have used Yammer as a free tool for our committee and for members. However, due to some changes on their side and the introduction of CIPRNet for the CIPR volunteers it isn’t a platform we really need. If you are in our Yammer group as a member then please join us on either LinkedIn or Facebook if you haven’t done so already
  • Our Facebook group has been around for a while and we will continue to update it with our latest news. However, we will be reviewing this over the summer to see how to use it moving forwards, so if you have any suggestions let us know!
  • LinkedIn is getting a little bit more attention in the coming weeks as well. We want to enhance the community here and make sure it’s a space for everyone to share and ask for support if it’s needed. Having a space for our members is important and this is the main place we encourage you to share
  • Our Twitter account has grown from strength to strength over recent months and we use this channel daily to share stories, articles and events we are holding. Advita and the team look after all the conversations on there so feel free to say hello!

And as we enter the summer months I can now announce details about our annual conference! Based on research to help you make your internal communications count I’m excited about the one-day event which will take place on 1 November. You can find out more and book tickets here.
