Making it Count – Conference 2017

This year’s annual conference was all about helping you make your internal communications count – and help you align all that you do with the CEO’s agenda.

For the first time we have conducted research with CEOs across the UK to find out what they think about internal communication – what value does it bring to their organisation and what does good look like. The results have been enlightening.

 

But we didn’t stop there – we ran a survey with our members alongside this to find out what you think good looks like and what value you believe it brings. This year’s conference was designed to answer the questions we have been asking for years and to move us forward in the discussion about how we become strategic partners to the board. The day started with a keynote from the team sharing these results and all those attended received a copy the report in their goodie bags. The findings were then put into action supported by our partners at Weber Shandwick, Alive with Ideas, H&H, Media Maker and Scarlett Abbott who worked through the themes we uncovered to support your journey to really make an impact.

In the afternoon we embraced the unconference style raising specific challenges that were the biggest issues for our delegates, including leadership comms, storytelling and remote workers. The day finished with a case study from Danielle Chan who shared her experience with launching ‘game changer’ a fabulous initiative at Community Integrated Care and Andrew Whyte from FCA who spoke about building credibility when everyone is a comms expert.
