We’re really pleased to announce the launch of our conference: Changing behaviour for better business

Changing behaviour is at the heart of everything we do in internal communication.  We help the businesses and organisations that we work with to achieve their business aims. It’s making that connection that takes internal communication to a strategic level, gets buy in from leadership and demonstrates its success.

The theme

This year we’ve put changing behaviour at the centre of our annual internal communication conference.

We know that every well thought out piece of communication, every project we get involved in, every organisational change programme and more is ultimately about changing behaviour. Changing behaviour for better business.

Woolly objectives and just sending stuff out doesn’t cut it in a world where every pound spent counts, where we must demonstrate what internal comms can do, get leadership buy-in and cut through the noise.

Organisations of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and values face the same underlying challenges of how they will change behaviours. Their precise aims, and how they tackle this is down to the size of the team, the size of the budget and more.

What you want

In our survey in May you told us that you wanted to learn more about change, engaging leaders, employee engagement and measurement. These were your priorities. Feedback from last year’s conference also showed us you want more opportunities to interact, network and share real life problems and solutions.

So after listening to your feedback we are bringing all these aspects together into our conference this year. We think it’s interesting to look at both sides of the coin –the big and the small, the internal and the external communication, the HR and IC teams, the agency and – team, the private and public sectors and find out how behaviour change is tackled in all aspects of organisations. By looking at how internal communication can impact behaviour, what different organisations do to really make a difference and exploring how this is measured to show real value to the business we will cover all areas you told us you wanted to hear.

So we’re creating an event that fits with your desires to interact, network and share.

How will the conference work on the day?

The CIPR Inside annual internal communication conference is one of the biggest in our industry. This year we are building upon the sell-out success of last year’s event and the CIPR Inside committee is now organising the event in addition to advising on the content as we did last year. We’re really excited to bring this event together and as we all work in IC we know what is going on in our industry and what we all want to learn.

We’re really pleased to confirm Benjamin Ellis will open the conference as Keynote speaker. Benjamin is passionate about what Benjamin Ellispeople can achieve, especially at the ‘intersections between people, communication and software’.

He describes himself as a social technologist and serial entrepreneur and he’s worked in the online world since the mid 1980′s. He has worked with companies including Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks in Silicon Valley, and on projects with Microsoft, IBM and Motorola.

If you’ve ever been to an event with Benjamin speaking, or even if he’s just there, you will know that he has a truly insightful view of the world of comms, and speaks passionately yet precisely about what we do and the difference it makes to business.

After the keynote we’ll present a set of lightning talks, 15 minutes a-piece giving you variety, interest and topics to then take on to lively debate during some of our unconference style sessions later. During the afternoon we will showcase some best practice case studies from our industry and give you the opportunity to find out more, ask your own questions and of course network.

We are working on the agenda now, and realise many of you are keen to see what we’re planning, and book your places.
