Changes to the CIPR Inside Committee

I’m sure many of you have seen the news that I will be the President-Elect in 2019. As a result I will be stepping down as Chair from the Inside group. I have been a volunteer with the group since 2012 taking the role of Treasurer, Chair and Secretary over the years.

We have made lots of changes in those years, hosted some fantastic events and created some thought-provoking research. I have made some of my best friends through being involved with the group and it has been an absolutely honour to work with every one of the volunteers over those years.

As I take the next step to support CIPR over the next three years I am so pleased to be leaving the group in the hands of Advita Patel who will step into the role of Chair in January. Advita has been a committee member for number of years and my vice-chair for the last year. During her time on the committee she has led on various projects including the revamp to our website and social media channels in 2016/17. She will be a fantastic Chair and I am already excited about the events and plans she has for 2019.

She will be supported by Helen Deverell who will be stepping in as Vice Chair and Martin Flegg who will remain as Treasurer. Helen and Martin have been incredible members of the committee providing counsel and advice as well as leading on some core projects for the group around the CPD content and research projects.

Jenni Kampf is now the group secretary and will continue to support the team with meetings and events – ensuring those deadlines are met and minutes are actioned. A role often overlooked but imperative to group success.

To celebrate the end of the year and the end of my time with Inside we are hosting some festive drinks on 5 December in London – if you can make it please come and say hello: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cipr-inside-christmas-drinks-tickets-51070082993. And if I don’t see you, I hope to be out and about a lot over the next three years as I support Emma Leech in her presidency throughout 2019.

Jenni
