All I want for Christmas is my completed CPD…

As we come to the end of the year, it’s a time to tie up loose ends and prepare for a year ahead. Jo Twiselton our committee member who looks after CPD has shared this blog post with us ahead of the festive break.

In just a couple of weeks, we’ll be welcoming in a brand new year. I’m madly finishing off projects so that I can relax over the festive period (as I know many other people are), but I still have my CIPR CPD (Continuous Professional Development) on my ‘to do’ list. I need to get on with it as the deadline to complete is 29th February and it’s not that far away!

The great thing about 2016 is it’s a leap year which does give me an extra day to squeeze in a few last-minute points. But, like all good comms planners, I don’t want to leave it all to the very end. So, I’ve been thinking about the best way to fit in whatever I can before the deadline and I’ve come up with three things I’m planning to do to make the most of the festive season for my CPD.

Stuck for gift ideas? I don’t need any more bubble bath so have suggested that if someone’s really stuck for a gift for me to check out my Amazon wish list, where I’ve asked for a few of the CPD titles on my reading list. [Check out our reading list from the summer here]

Stuck for things to do? I don’t generally get bored over the holidays, but just in case I think about dozing in front of the telly, trying to get out of party games or finding ways to avoid even more chocolate, I will sneak off and log on to the CIPR CPD site. Just 30 minutes online reading a short guide will get me a few more points and I’m sure no-one will notice I’m gone…

Stuck for ideas of how to collect points? I’ll spend a little while checking out the new additions to the CPD site. It’s always getting updated and there’s bound to be something that I can get my teeth into.

So, here’s to a very festive season and wishing you all a very prosperous CPD break!
